EDUCATION AND TRAINING TAILORED TO YOUR ORGANISATION AND STAFF

Just as sensory children are diverse, so too are the education and training needs of the OT’s that support them...

That’s why our sessions are tailored to meet your staff where they are and where they desire to grow to, so we can pack the most punch during our time together.

While the options are endless, we can:

  • Fill specific knowledge gaps
  • Unpack case studies
  • Explore specific behavioural and practice challenges
  • Explore reporting and supports through NDIS and other funding sources for your sensory clients
  • Audit your current sensory equipment and resources
  • Design and equip the sensory spaces in your clinic

ALL TRAINING SESSIONS ARE FACILITATED BY OUR FOUNDER, KERRY

With a Masters degree, over 25 years of clinical experience, and having presented and been published at the international conference level, Kerry is a respected member of and teacher in the sensory OT community.

  • Fill out our enquiry form so we can get to know your organisation’s unique needs and goals

  • We will make a time to chat via Zoom, so we can learn more about how we can best support your staff

  • We will send you a customised outline and quote for a training session that has been designed just for your team

  • We will roll out our training for your staff (either virtually, or in -person)

  • Q1: DO YOU TRAVEL WITHIN AUSTRALIA TO DELIVER TRAINING?

A: We do! Simply let us know where you’re based, and that you’d prefer in-person support on your enquiry form, and we’ll add this to your customised quote.

  • Q2: DO YOU OFFER ONGOING SUPPORT FOR ORGANISATIONS, OR ONLY ONE OFF SESSIONS?

A: We offer both options! If you’re an organisation that’s deeply dedicated to upskilling your staff and improving client outcomes, and wants ongoing support, then we would love to serve you in this way.

  • Q3: CAN YOU OFFER 1:1 SUPPORT TO OUR STAFF?

A: You can find information about our 1:1 coaching option for Occupational Therapists here. If you are open to investing in your staff’s development in this way, and if they are motivated to engage in this kind of support, then we would love to work with them.

  • Q4:HOW MUCH DOES A TRAINING SESSION COST?

Because our training sessions are customised to meet your staff’s needs, no two quotes are the same. You can tell us more about your organisation’s education and training needs here, and from there, we will be able to give you more of an idea about costs.

Kerry Evetts

Hi! I am a mother to 3 gorgeous boys (and 2 girl puppies), a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend and an OT. Being an OT is part of who I am. My OT colleagues and friends will testify to the fact that for me, my work is not just work, its just ME! I consider myself very blessed to have discovered OT as a profession to study back in 1995 when OT wasn't well known. It was the very best decision to study OT! Since qualifying in South Africa from the former University of Durban Westville, I have lived and worked in London, South Africa and now Australia. I first learnt about Ayres Sensory Integration in 2007, and completed the SIPT certification course with SAISI (South African Institute of Sensory Integration) in 2010, which was the original Certification in ASI (CASI). My work and my passion since then as been in the sensory contributions that exist in every facet of our being and our actions, and how to support and intervene with a child whose sensory processing has compromised their functional capacity. I completed my Masters in OT in 2017 with a dissertation that has since been published :) I have worked with many children with sensory processing difficulties over the past 15 years, from birth to school-aged, some without any additional diagnoses and many with co-morbid conditions of ASD, ADHD, Global Developmental delay and related conditions. It is my mission and my passion to teach/train/learn. I believe in Life Long Learning and am always participating in training, reading papers and watching what's happening in the ASI (Ayres Sensory Integration) world. ASI is my chosen field of interest and study as its the most evidence-based (past and present) and makes the most sense to me. I have a new and very keen interest in Interoception and have been learning so much from Kelly Mahler. I have training in Infant Sensory Integration, various Autism Spectrum Disorder specific training including Makaton (sign language), behaviour management, DIR Floortime Level 1, advanced Early Start Denver Model training. More recently I have completed advanced Conquering Wees and Poos, Responsive Feeding Therapy, Karen Stagnetti's Play assessment. I have completed and favour many courses from The Maud LeRoux Academy, The Spiral Foundation and CL-asi.

TESTIMONIAL

THE TALBOT CENTRE

Dr Amy Talbot, Director & Clinical Psychologist

We engaged Kerry to do a short series of professional development workshops for our multidisciplinary team (not OTs) on sensory processing and understanding sensory contributions to feeding challenges. From the initial enquiry, Kerry had a clear and structured approach to content development and planning and was always willing to collaborate on how to adjust the scope of the content to best meet the needs of our team. Kerry is a clear and highly engaging presenter who is clearly an expert in her content area of sensory processing and integration. Our team has gained a significantly improved understanding of the topic area, and the workshops have sparked conversation about ways we can improve our service offerings more broadly through utilisation of our improved knowledge about sensory needs. Thank you Kerry – I had approached multiple providers with a limited understanding of exactly what we would need and you made it a very easy decision, I am confident I made an excellent choice and will definitely be looking to work with you again!

If you’d love to know more about how we can support your staff to upskill and enhance the experiences and lives of their sensory clients, then reach out!
