ABOUT ME
I have been a practicing occupational therapist for 25 years and have lived and worked in London, South Africa and now Australia. I have a passion for family, friends and "all things sensory".
I am a mother to 3 gorgeous boys (and 2 girl puppies), a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend and an OT. Specifically, I like to think of myself as a sensory OT. It's a big part of who I am.
I first learnt about Ayres Sensory Integration in 2007, and completed the SIPT certification course in 2010, which was the original Certification in ASI (CASI).
My work and my passion since then has been in the sensory contributions that exist in every facet of our being and our actions, and how to support and intervene with a child whose sensory processing has compromised their functional capacity.
I completed my Masters in OT in 2017 with a dissertation that has since been published :)
I have worked with many children with sensory processing difficulties over the past 15 years, from birth to school-aged, some without any additional diagnoses and many with co-morbid conditions of ASD, ADHD, Global Developmental delay and related conditions.
It is my passion to teach/train/learn. I believe in Life Long Learning and am always participating in training, reading papers and watching what's happening in the ASI (Ayres Sensory Integration) world.
I would love to share some of what I have learnt with YOU!
